Route 1 Lane To Close For Construction In Bensalem This Week
Southbound Route 1 will be limited to one lane in Bensalem this week, township officials say. Here's what to know.

BENSALEM, PA - Southbound Route 1 will be limited to one lane in Bensalem this week, township officials say.
The road will be reduced to one lane between the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 and Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges in Bensalem through Aug. 31, according to the Bensalem Township website.
The partial road closure will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day for shoulder reconstruction, per Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

Lane restrictions also be in effect on Tuesday through Sept. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction on northbound and southbound Route 1 between Old Lincoln Highway and the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchange and on eastbound and/or westbound Street Road (Route 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way, Bensalem officials added.
Drivers are urged to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled construction is weather permitting.

The closures come as part of multi-million PennDOT projects to reconstruct and widen nearly three miles of Route 1, as well as interchange improvement and bridge construction - including new structures over the Neshaminy Creek and over rail lines near the Penndel exit.
