Sailor Helping 'Ease The Strain': Bensalem Hero

BENSALEM, PA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from U.S. Marine Corps spokesman Maj. Roger Hollenbeck, who nominated a Bensalem native, Lt. j.g. Eric Taylor. Taylor is a sailor in the U.S. Navy.

Taylor is part of a 100-member U.S. military team running two, 30-bed coronavirus wards in hard-hit Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The team coordinates with state and local public health authorities and work to ease the strain of the patient-care surge in the city.
