BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — State Rep. Kathleen "KC" Tomlinson is expressing outrage after having a sign at a field supporting youth sports vandalized recently.

The Republican lawmaker showed a picture on Facebook of her damaged sign.

"I realize we live in incredibly polarizing times today, but I have always tried to do my job in a way that brings our community together," Tomlinson said. "So it’s frustrating when I see my signs vandalized that are meant to support youth sports."

Tomlinson said that political sign vandalism has become a trend recently. She said that fellow GOP state representative Joe Hogan, who serves the district next to Tomlinson, "unfortunately experienced the same thing on one of his signs supporting youth sports."

Tomlinson did not state the field where her sign was vandalized.

"There is no reason for this," Tomlinson said. "And we especially don’t need to use youth sports or community events as a way to send a message or take out your grievances with me."

"By all means, you have the right to express your political views, to have a contrary opinion to me, and to even work against me in the next election," Tomlinson said. "But I have always encouraged conversation, even with those who may disagree with me."

Tomlinson said she prides herself on being available and active in the community. She said her staff is always accessible.

"I meet with constituents, go door to door, and even make myself available in the middle of grocery shopping," she said.
