$5 Gets Your Kid Ready for Bike Riding

The Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative offers free helmets, helmet fittings, bike maintenance and education for a nominal fee as it opens new headquarters in West Bethlehem.

Β

The Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative is celebrating the opening of its new West Bethlehem headquarters by offering children safety helmets and helmet fittings in time for the warmer riding weather of spring.

A $5 day pass for one child or $10 family pass will get children free helmets and/or helmet fittings if the child comes with a bicycle and a parent or guardian. The services are free to those who are already members of the Car-Free Coalition for Appropriate Transportation and/or the bicycle cooperative.

A free one-hour bicycle education class is also included with the one-day pass. The cooperative’s technicians will help get your child’s bike ready for the season.

Car-Free CAT Director Steve Schmitt said the services are being offered to celebrate the opening of the bicycle cooperative’s new home at 1935 W. Broad St.
