  • A witness told police that Hernandez had made a telephone call to him asking him to go with him because King had punched him in the face earlier in the day and he wanted to punch him back.
  • The witness said he saw Hernandez driving a silver BMW, with Lopez in the passenger seat, as they drove to the rear of Rowe’s motorcycle shop at 1435 Marvine St. The witness was driving in a tan SUV behind the BMW.
  • The witness said he saw Lopez approach King and punch him in the face. Then he said he saw Hernandez pull a handgun from his waistband and shoot King several times while he tried to run away.
  • The witness then drove away from the scene.
  • A second witness told police that she saw a heavyset Hispanic man (Lopez) get out of a BMW and a skinny Hispanic man (Hernandez) get out a short time later. Hernandez then approached the woman and said to her: β€œIf you don’t wanna see nothing crazy, leave.”
  • The woman said she pushed her child back into her vehicle and watched as Hernandez fired a gun several times at King as he tried to run away.

In addition to attempted criminal homicide, Lopez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of criminal conspiracy and recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned Friday night before on-duty District Judge Nancy Matos-Gonzalez of Bethlehem and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
