Bethlehem Man Dies After Standoff With Police
A Bethlehem man has died from his injuries after shooting himself in the head during a police standoff Friday.

The man in the head with a rifle during a standoff with Bethlehem police Friday has died, according to the Lehigh County Coronerβs Office.
Identified as Davon Graham, 21, of Bethlehem, he was pronounced dead in St. Lukeβs University Hospital at 8:36 p.m. Friday.
The standoff at the intersection E. Fourth and Hayes Streets in the SouthSide came shortly after Graham attacked a neighbor with a machete a few blocks east at 2 Trone St., police said.

βOfficers repeatedly requested him to put down the loaded rifle,β said the news release from Det. Lt. Mark DiLuzio. But the suspect fired with the rifle pointed at his head, police said.
The victim of the machete assault, who also was not identified, suffered neck wounds, has undergone surgery and is listed in serious condition at St. Lukeβs, police said.
