Couple Robbed at Gunpoint in West Bethlehem: Police

2 men emerged from shadows and brandished revolvers at elderly couple late Monday night, police said.

An elderly Hispanic couple was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of their apartment complex in West Bethlehem late Monday night, city police said.

The couple was getting out of their car at the West End Apartments at 1314 W. Lehigh St. when they were approached by two men wearing ski masks and brandishing short-barreled revolvers, police said.

At a few minutes before midnight, the men came out of a nearby tree line and demanded the woman’s wallet and the man’s cell phone, police said. The robbers demanded more but the victims told them they had nothing else, police said.

The robbers then fled on foot in a northwest direction, police said.

The Morning Call, citing a police radio report, described one of the suspects as being 5-foot-6 and wearing a red shirt and red shorts. The other suspect was described as being about 6-foot-4 and wearing dark clothing.
