How to Comment on Patch

Patch’s new commenting platform is powered by the third-party application Disqus, the most popular commenting system on the Web. It’s really easy to use. Here’s how:

1. Scroll to the bottom of this story and click the word “Login.”
2. You’ll be given the choice of logging in viaDisqus, Facebook, Twitter or Google. You CAN remain anonymous.
3. Type your comment in the “Join the Discussion” box. Make sure to adhere to our commenting policy, which you can reviewhere.
4. Click “Post.”

As long as you have used a verified email address, you will see your comment within minutes. To check whether your email is verified, visithttp://disqus.com/verify/.

A number in the little red bubble above the comments window will let you know how many responses you have to your comments.

Disqus also allows you to insert photos in your comments (click the camera icon), to follow conversations (click subscribe at the bottom of the story), and to get notifications when others have responded to you.
