Kemerer Museum Reopening Friday
Bethlehem museum of decorative arts had been closed for renovations.
After closing for a major renovation, Bethlehem's Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts will reopen on Friday.
The renovations "include a two-story, environmentally-controlled collections resource center that provides open storage for nearly 40% of Historic Bethlehem’s artifacts, including paintings, textiles, toys, furniture, and one of the country’s largest antique dollhouse collections," the museum said in a news release.
Visitors can explore the history of the decorative arts in the Lehigh Valley from the pre-Revolutionary War Moravian settlers to the Industrial Revolution.
The renovated space also includes an observation room where guests can view artifacts, an interactive play area for children with dolls and toys, and countless collection items being displayed for the first time.
The museum will be open for general admission Friday through Sunday from 11am to 4pm beginning September 20. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children; members can get in for free.
