Lanes Closed Between Bethlehem and Lower Saucon

Resurfacing on PA 378 between Bethlehem and Lower Saucon began yesterday; it is expected to be complete by October 31.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work will begin Monday, Sept. 22 on a project to resurface PA 378 between 3rd Street and Puggy Lane in the City of Bethlehem and Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County because of additional resources made available by Act 89, the state’s new transportation plan.

Work on this project will consist of milling, patching, base repair, overlay work, new pavement markings, tree trimming, and other miscellaneous items.

On Monday, Sept. 22, traffic will be reduced to a single lane and controlled by flaggers between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for tree trimming work. Then beginning on Sept. 29 and continuing through construction, traffic will be reduced to a single lane and controlled by flaggers between the hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
