'Slime' Arrested in Killing Outside Strip Club

A nearly seven-month search for a suspectΒ who police say shot and killedΒ aΒ 21-year-old manΒ as he walkedΒ past a strip club on the border between Bethlehem and AllentownΒ ended Wednesday, according to a published report.
Police tookΒ Ulysses Rodriguez, 21, whose last known address was 937 Walnut St. in Allentown, into custodyΒ Wednesday night inΒ Suffolk County, N.Y., according to a report onΒ wfmz.com. Police learned of the outstanding warrantΒ when they arrestedΒ Rodriguez, whose street name is "Slime,"Β on a public drunkenness charge, the report said.
Police allege that Rodriguez gunned downΒ Tyree Wimberly,Β who lived on Alice Street in Allentown, on the street outside of Scoobieβs Gentlemanβs Club, 2327 Hanover Ave., Allentown, at about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 26.
An eyewitness told police there wasΒ a confrontation at Club Avenue and Eaton Avenue after Rodriguez offered to sell marijuana and Wimberly refused to buy, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The witness said he saw the shooter pull a handgun from his waistband in the back of his pants and point it at Wimberly, according to the affidavit. Then the witness said he heard several shots before Wimberly walked toward the entrance of Scoobieβs and collapsed.
The shooter then fled, the witness told police.

Authorities filed a charge of criminal homicide against Rodriguez on April 23, according to online court records.
