SouthSide Library Branch Reopens After Renovations

3-month renovation project added technical upgrades, fresh furniture and a new coat of paint.

After being closed for three months for a renovation project, the SouthSide Branch of the Bethlehem Area Public Library has reopened this week.

The renovations included extensive technical upgrades including new electrical conduit and wiring, a new heating and ventilation system and new lighting fixtures.

New carpets, fresh coats of paint and brightly colored new furniture are also part of the refurbished landscape of the SouthSide Library. The library’s classic original oak shelving has been refinished and reinstalled.

The library has also added new programming for toddlers and computer workshops for adults. The annual SouthSide Spring Party has been scheduled for April 16.

The SouthSide Branch is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
