Suspect in Whiskey Theft in Custody

A man was extradited from Ohio because he's suspected of stealing Johnny Walker whiskey and Grey Goose vodka from a liquor store.

A man suspected of stealing Johnny Walker Green Label whisky from a Bethlehem Township liquor store was extradicted from Ohio Friday (Nov. 18) and charged in Northampton County.

Brandon D. Faux, 38, unknown local address, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Ohio when an outstanding warrant for the incident was discovered.

He was arraigned by District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township on charges ofΒ  retail theft and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked. He was released after posting 10 percent ofΒ  $10,000 bail.

The charges are for an Oct. 17 incident at the , 3926 Nazareth Pike. He is also suspected of stealing liquor from the same store on Sept. 29, but the charges apply only to the Oct. 17 incident.

According to court records, Faux entered the store around 5:17 p.m. on Sept. 29 and stole two bottles of Grey Goose Vodka worth $99.98. The incident was captured on video. On Oct. 17 around 2:08 p.m., he entered the same store and stole three bottles of the Johnny Walker whisky valued at $179.99. That incident also was captured on video.

The records do not specify what kind of Green Label whisky was involved (there is, for instance, Green Label blended malt whisky and Green Label blended malt Scotch whisky).

In the Oct. 17 incident, the records say, Faux drove away in a white Ford van with the words Tersigni Construction on the side.Β Company owner Jason Tersigni told police the van driver is "a former employee named Brandon Faux," the records say.

Two liquor store clerks picked Faux as the alleged thief in both incidents from a photo lineup, according to the records. Faux has a prior conviction for retail theft in 1998, the records say.

The above arrest information was supplied by the office of District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township. It does not indicate a conviction.
