Gallery: Muse VFD Crew Spends $1,600 for Toys for Tots

The department held a boot drive in October that raised they money they used to buy bikes and other toys this week.

This past week, the crew from the Muse Volunteer Fire Department went on its annual trip to the store to buy bikes and other kid-favorites for the annual Toys for Tots drive.

The crew spent just more than $1,600 on the toys. This is the eighth year the department has participated in the program.

And local folks can get involved, too.

There will be a toy drive at the Muse fire station 9 a.m. until noon on Dec. 1.

"If you want to participate, please bring a new toy valued at $5 or greater. Or, if you prefer, monetary donations will be accepted also. Santa Claus will be in attendance, so bring the kiddies," department safety officer Paul Smith said.
