Several hundred students entered Canonsburg General Hospital’s 15th Annual "Giving Thanks" essay contest this year.
One winner from each elementary and intermediate school in Canon-McMillan, Peters Township, Chartiers-Houston School Districts, and St. Patrick’s School was chosen by a panel of judges at the hospital.
One winner, Shea Pitts of First Street Elementary, wrote about missing her father, who is currently serving in the Air Force. Through the benefits of technology, her father will be able to “join” the festivities via Skype when the students were honored at a dinner at the hospital Tuesday.
