Her condition was not immediately known Thursday morning.

A McDonald woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Cecil Township late Wednesday night.

Cecil Township police said an SUV driven by Candice Coonfield, 23, struck a barrier head-on in the west-hand lane of Millers Run Road at Cecil-Henderson Road around 11:40 p.m.

Police said the vehicle then spun counterclockwise and continued its slide against the guard rail for about 24 feet before it came to rest.

Police said the vehicle sustained “severe” damage. A large piece of the guard rail had to be cut off the wheel of the woman’s car by the Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Department before it was towed from the scene, police said.

Coonfield was found lying across the passenger seat of the vehicle, was removed and taken by Southbridge EMS to Mercy Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
