New York Man Charged in 2011 Easton Shooting
Miguel Rodriguez charged in West Ward shooting, was also wanted for questioning in 2012 homicide.
A New York City man who had been wanted for questioning in an Easton homicide has been charged in a separate shooting from 2011, according to court records and published reports.
Miguel Rodriguez, 19, of Brooklyn, was charged Friday with attempted homicide and aggravated assault in the shooting of Eric Edwards on Dec. 19, 2011.
Edwards was hospitalized after being shot multiple times at 13th and Washington streets.
The Express-Times said the charges were the result of a Northampton County grand jury investigation.
Rodriguez—who police say is part of a gang known as the "Very Crispy Gangsters"—was arrested in February on drug charges following a stand-off on the South Side.
At the time, police said they wanted to question about the shooting death of Damien Robinson on Feb. 9 at Eddie G's, a now-closed downtown bar.
The Eddie G's case is still before the grand jury, which has had a productive year: In March, it ruled that a 2012 West Ward homicide was self-defense. In September, it indicted a former bank president from Palmer Township for running a $10 million Ponzi scheme.
