Five Family Events for the Weekend

This week we have a great movie you forgot to go see when it was out, flowers, a piano recital, an invention showcase and a place you can race all your Matchbox cars.

Why Go: You can escape the heat and enjoy a pretty good movie at the same time.

Pricing: $4, adults; $3, children 11 and under and seniors.

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 11 in beautiful downtown Emmaus.

Why Go: Local restaurants supply the food, visual and performing artists fill up the Triangle and it's the 2nd annual Sidewalk Sale, to boot!

Pricing: Depends on how much you buy.

When/Where: 4 p.m. June 12 at , Bethlehem.

Why Go: Because in her last performance before she goes off to college she will play the music of Schubert, Ligeti, Scriabin, Chopin and Ravel.

Pricing: No cost.

4. Da Vinci Science Center 2011 Invention Showcase

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11 at Da Vinci Science Center.

Why Go: Because participating inventors will showcase their creations and receive feedback.

Pricing: Admission: $11.95, adults; $8.95, children 4-12.

5. Kid’s Matchbox Car Race Day at America On Wheels Museum

When/Where: 1-3 p.m. June 12 at the America on Wheels Museum.

Why Go: Because you can race your own Matchbox cars or the museum's Matchbox cars in the museum on a ramp. You can also create your own road trip with your cars on a road mat.

Pricing: Admission: $7, adults; $3.50, students 6-16.
