Child Porn Charges Filed Against Delco Man: State Police

Pennsylvania State Police said a 65-year-old Havertown man was charged with 20 felony counts of child pornography recently.

HAVERTOWN, PA — Pennsylvania State Police have filed felony child pornography charges against a Havertown man.

John Jonas Wolfe, 65, of Havertown, was charged with 20 felony counts of child pornography on April 11, according to court records.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for Wolfe's home after an investigation into child pornography on file sharing networks that began in December 2024, authorities said.

Investigators wound up tracking an IP address that was confirmed to belong to a Verizon account holder in Havertown.

Verizon later confirmed to authorities that the IP address belonged to Wolfe, and provided his address to investigators, according to charging documents.

Authorities then obtained a search warrant for Wolfe's home and electronic devices, and the warrant was executed on March 5.

Wolfe was home and told police that he had seen child pornography on the internet and that he deletes any of the explicit material he downloads, charging documents state.

Investigators seized electronic devices at the home, and the devices were then searched.

Authorities said 260 images and 25 video files depicting child pornography were found on Wolfe's laptop.

On Thursday, Wolfe was taken into custody.

He is scheduled for a May 9 preliminary hearing, court records show.

He was released Thursday on $500,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
