Driver Gets Pulled Over for Speeding, Crashes Car, Attempts to Flee Scene

The driver has been charged with six counts–driving under the influence, driving while suspended DUI-related and other related charges.

On Nov. 3 at 11:30 a.m., police were conducting a traffic detail in the southbound lanes of the 300 block of Media Line Road when police observed a Chrysler Concorde traveling 45 mph in a 25 mph zone, Newtown Police state.

The driver of the vehicle Patrick Wynne, 25, of Havertown, acknowledged police presence and slowed down, but when police approached the vehicle at the driver’s side window of Wynne’s vehicle, he accelerated and fled southbound on the 400 block of Media Line Road at a high rate of speed, said police.

Police followed the vehicle toward Media Line and Gradyville roads when police saw that Wynne’s sedan was wrecked on the roadway in the 3600 block of Gradyville Road.

As police approached the car crash, Wynne was seen fleeing on foot in an attempt to elude from police, according to the incident report. Upon Wynne’s arrest, police discovered two open packets of Suboxone (8mg and 2mg).

Wynne was taken to Springfield Hospital for blood withdrawal. He was arrested and charged on six counts–driving under the influence, driving while suspended DUI-related, unlawful to issue a false ID, maximum speed limits established in zones, fleeing or attempting to elude officer and reckless driving.
