DUI, Theft, Fraud, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

Haverford Township Police said a local woman was scammed out of nearly $2,000 via Facebook. See details on this and more incidents here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Police released details on recent crimes in the township in their latest blotter.

These incidents occurred between April 2 and April 7.

The blotter also features arrests made and citations issued.

  • Theft at the 800 block of Deer Road on April 2 at 9:04 p.m. – A laptop was stolen from the residence.
  • Theft at Bryn Mawr Family Medicine, 900 block of Haverford Road, on April 2 at 12:47 p.m. – The manager reported that the bank deposit bag containing $110 was stolen from a desk drawer.
  • Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on April 2 at 2:43 p.m. – An unknown male stole $444.96 worth of merchandise.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on April 4 at 8:44 p.m. – Three unknown males stole a variety box full of king-size cany bars valued at $90.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 1500 block of Burmont Road on April 5 at 1:34 a.m. – A second floor window was broken by a large stick.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on April 5 at 11:01 a.m. – 36-year-old male, 2900 block of Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia was cited for the retail theft of $23.26 worth of merchandise and a 28-year-old male was arrested.
  • Retail Theft at Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on April 5 at 3:23 p.m. – An unknown male stole $195 worth of merchandise.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on April 5 at 3:59 p.m. – An unknown female stole $300 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on April 6 at 5 p.m. – Victim reported that she dropped her wallet containing identification and credit cards at the self-checkout line. Multiple unauthorized purchases were made with the credit cards.
  • Fraud at the 1200 block of Fairview Avenue on April 7 at 1:38 p.m. – Victim reported that she inquired about a dog for sale on Facebook. The seller requested an initial payment of $900 and then an additional $950. Shortly after the payments were sent the account was deactivated.
  • Identity Theft at the 700 block of Polo Road on April 7 at 1:52 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a bank account.

  • 63-year-old male, 400 block of Heatherwood Road, Havertown. Charges: DUI, careless driving and failure to keep right. Location: Township Line Road and Edmonds Avenue. Date: April 3 at 8:05 p.m.
  • 45-year-old male, unit block of N. State Road, Upper Darby. Charges: Retail theft and criminal trespass. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: April 3 at 10:41 a.m.
  • 28-year-old male, 2900 block of Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and false identification to law enforcement. Location: Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue. Date: April 5 at 11:01 a.m.
  • 38-year-old male, unit block of E. Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore. Charges: DUI, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Oxford Road and Pembroke Road. Date: April 6 at 10:33 a.m.
  • 25-year-old male, 4400 block of State Route DD, Willow Springs, Maryland. Charges: Theft by unlawful taking, bad checks, possessing instrument of crime, securing execution docs by deception and warrant. Location: McMobile Inc., 1200 block of Township Line Road. Date: April 7 at 3:24 p.m.
  • 22-year-old female, 4400 block of State Route DD, Willow Springs, Maryland. Charges: Theft by unlawful taking, bad checks, possessing instrument of crime and secure execution docs by deception. Location: McMobile Inc., 1200 block of Township Line Road. Date: April 7 at 3:24 p.m.
