Haverford Police K9 Jango Dies
Jango, who was retired from the Haverford Township Police Department when he died, served the community for more than 10 years.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A furry member of the Delaware County law enforcement community has died.
Haverford Township Police said retired K9 Jango died Monday.
Jango, who was handled by Ofc. Douglas Linker, served the community for more than 10 years.

According to the department, he logged more than 19,000 hours of service.
Police said Linker's partnership and dedication were instrumental to Jango’s service.

"Thank you, Jango, for your unwavering dedication, bravery, and loyalty," police said on social media. "You will always hold a special place in our hearts, and you will be greatly missed."
Jango in 2019 was given a bullet- and stab-proof vest by the non-profit group Vested Interest in K9s Inc.
In 2018, Jango and Linker won the Delaware County Police K-9 Competition.
