Long-Time Haverford Resident Marks Big Day

June Trenner is matriach of four generations.

June Trenner is an 'old-school' gentlelady who doesn't discuss a woman's age. But when prodded by her daughter, the former 40-year resident of Haverford will playfully concede that "there is a six and a nine in it."

Many in the Berwyn restaurant where she celebrated her birthday Friday night really weren't sure whether she was turning 69 or 96. With a captivating wit, charm, warm smile and youthful appearance it was hard for many to believe that it really wasn't her sixty-ninth.

Mrs. Trenner says she and her husband raised their family in Haverford in the shadow of the Merion Golf Club course that is preparing to host the U.S. Open. She is now a great grandmother of 17 children, according to daughter Linda Imhoff who was among those singing Happy Birthday Friday night at EmJ's Cafe in Berwyn.

Mrs. Trenner moved from Haverford a few years ago after her husband died and now lives nearby in an apartment at Dunwoody in Newtown Square where she has a very active life.
