Pennsy Trail Extension, Bridge Construction To Begin Soon

A 70-foot pedestrian bridge and 1,600-foot paved trail are in the works, officials said. Here's when the project is set to be completed:

HAVERFORD, PA - Improvements at Pennsy Trail in Haverford are poised to be constructed soon, township officials said last week.

Last Friday, Haverford Township Commissioners, Senator Amanda Cappelletti, and representatives from Friends of Haverford Trails participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the trail’s 1,600-foot extension from Manoa Road to the parking lot at the end of Vernon Road.

A 70-foot pedestrian bridge over Manoa Road is also planned. Construction is set to begin this summer, officials said.

Haverford received a $1.16 million grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission’s Transportation Alternatives Set Aside program for the project, according to township documents.
