Residents Needed For Haverford Township Boards, Councils, Commissions

All applications, including all required submissions, must be received no later than 4 p.m. on Nov. 26, according to township officials.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Township is in need of qualified residents to serve on a slew of board, commissions, and councils.

The township is looking for a solicitor and township engineer, the latter of which will be appointed by the township manager.

In addition, the Board of Commissioners is seeking individuals to serve on the following entities beginning January 2026:

  • Civil Service Commission - 1 Term to end in December 2031 and 1 Alternate to end in December 2030
  • Health Advisory Board - 1 Term to end in December 2030
  • Historical Commission - 2 Terms to end in December 2029
  • Human Relations Commission - 2 Terms to end in December 2028
  • Ice Rink Advisory Board - 2 Terms to end in December 2029
  • Library Board of Trustees - 1 Term to end in December 2027
  • Parks & Recreation Board - 2 Terms to end in December 2030
  • Planning Commission - 2 Terms to end in December 2030
  • Senior Citizens Advisory Council - 1 Term for each Ward to end in December 2026, Contact local your commissioner
  • Shade Tree Commission - 1 Term to end in December 2026 and 2 Terms to end in December 2028
  • Zoning Hearing Board - 1 Term to end in December 2030

The Board of Commissioners has adopted the following requirements and procedures, which apply to applicants for all Boards, Committees and Commissions (excluding the Senior Citizens Advisory Council):

  1. All applicants, including applicants seeking reappointment, must contain the following required submissions: The applicant’s name, address, phone number and email address;
    1. A cover letter or cover email listing each Board, Committee or Commission on which the applicant seeks an appointment or reappointment;
    2. A resume or other summary of the applicant’s experience.
    3. A concise statement (no more than one typed page) summarizing why the applicant seeks the appointment or reappointment; and,
  2. All applicants, including applicants seeking reappointment, must appear for a 15-minute virtual interview, to be scheduled by the Board of Commissioners.
  3. Any applicant or incumbent who does not appear for an interview without good cause shall not be considered for appointment or reappointment.
