Talk on Quaker Women, Farmers Market in Haverford Wednesday

Read about some of the things happening in and around Haverford and Havertown on Wednesday.

1. The Oakmont Farmers Market will be open on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Grace Chapel Parking Lot. Read what will be for sale at the market this week.

2. Haverford Township's Cable Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

3. Brown Bag with 2013 Gest Fellow Kathryn Falvo. Go to the Special Collections of the Haverford College Library at noon on Wednesday for an informal brown-bag discussion with visiting Gest Fellow Kathryn Falvo. Falvo is a Ph.D. student in history at Penn State University and holds an M.A. in history and women’s studies from Penn State and a B.A. in history from Susquehanna University. Her research focuses on how travel influenced the political lives of late 18th- and early 19th-century Quaker women, encouraging in them reformist thought and benevolent action.

4. Roald Dahl’s timeless story returns to Summer Stage this week with songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at 10:30 a.m. 70 minutes, no intermission. Come early for fun pre-show activities and stay after the show to meet cast members! Ages 4 and up.

5. The Ancient Order of Hibernians of Havertown will hold its monthly meeting at the American Legion Post, 2200 Grasslyn Avenue in Havertown.
