Coopersburg 5K Run and Farmer's Market Kick Off Saturday

It's not too late to participate. Organization still looking for volunteers.

On your mark, get set...GO!

The  takes off Saturday, May 28, and it's sure to be a race to remember. This year's event will once again include a Health and Wellness Expo. Fifty percent of the funds raised will benefit the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which serves families in the greater Lehigh Valley.

Runners are expected to start arriving in the borough as early as 6:45am and streets will be blocked off by 7:45am. Lineup for the race is at 8am.

In conjunction with the race, the  will kick off its second year of operation. This year, organizer Wendy Sinko was granted a  to expand the farmer's market space, making room for additional vendors.

The market will regularly operate on Thursdays from 3:30 to 7pm through Oct. 6.
