A tribute to fallen police officer Robert A. Lasso--who was --will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 in Freemansburg, where Lasso served.
The Running for Robert Memorial 5K Run/Walk will mark and "will celebrate the life of a great policeman, husband, father and friend who is missed by all," according to a flyer for the event.
It will also benefit the family of Officer Lasso, including his widow and two children, as well as the Freemansburg Police Department.

The 5K race will begin at the intersection of Cambria and Karoly streets in Freemansburg and will finish at the recently dedicated Robert A. Lasso Police Center, 600 Monroe St.
The race will be held rain or shine, with registration/packet pickup beginning at 7am and the run/walk starting at 8:30am. Musical entertainment, food and raffles will also be part of the event.

Registration fees vary according to age and date of sign-up (for full details click here). Registrations will be accepted on the day of the race between 7 and 8:30am.
