The Halloween Parade: What You Need to Know

The Saucon Valley Spirit Parade will be held this Sunday, Oct. 21 in Hellertown. The parade begins at 2pm and the parade route will include a portion of Main Street.

This Sunday the biggest parade of the year will happen in Hellertown! Formerly known as the Saucon Valley Halloween Parade, the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade will begin at 2pm.

Here are some other things you should know if you plan to go!

Lineup will take place from 12:30 to 1:30pm near the intersection of Walnut Street and Rentzheimer Drive (next to the cemetery). The parade will END at the Saucon Valley School District campus at Walnut Street and Constitution Avenue.

The parade route will be a loop and will include Walnut Street, Main Street, Water Street, Rentzheimer Drive, Durham Street and Constitution Avenue.

With Main Street closed between Walnut and Water streets, traffic will temporarily be detoured along Walnut, Front and Depot streets.

This year's parade theme is "Tropical Adventures" and prizes will be awarded in various categories. The parade chairman is Dave Heintzelman.

Parents and guardians should keep an eye on children to ensure their safety as moving vehicles pass by.
