Volunteer Honored for Service at Board Meeting
Gary Hillegass of Hellertown has donated thousands of hours of time to various projects that benefit the district and its students, Saucon Valley Athletic Director Bob Frey said at the school board's Oct. 9 meeting.

A Hellertown resident and business owner was honored for his volunteer contributions to the school district at the Saucon Valley School Board's Oct. 9 meeting.
Gary Hillegass, who owns Gary Hillegass Contracting, was recognized by Saucon Valley Athletic Director Bob Frey at the start of the meeting.
"Over many years...Gary has put in thousands of hours in time" as a volunteer, Frey told the board and meeting attendees.

Recently Hillegass helped the district construct new baseball dugouts, and he's also donated his time on behalf of the Saucon Valley Music Connection, Frey added.
Superintendent Dr. Sandra Fellin confirmed Hillegass's commitment to helping the district, and thanked him for the many projects with which he has assisted.

"If you need anything, Gary is there," she said. "Sense of community in difficult times? Absolutely."
Board president Michael Karabin also thanked Hillegass, who attended the meeting with his wife.
The Saucon Valley School Board will meet tonight--Tuesday, Oct. 23--at 7pm at Saucon Valley High School.
