Joseph Bacino Beef and Beer Raises More Than $1,000 for Scholarships

Joseph Vito Bacino always put others first, his family, co-workers, students and many others were recipients of Joe’s personal mission.  The Bacino kindness lives on, even years after Joe passed of a sudden heart attack.

Joe lives on in a scholarship fund created with money from his family and friends. Towamencin can now add its local residents to that growing pool of contributors for the scholarship fund.

On Sunday, Veterans Day 11/11/12, the Towamencin Police Benevolent Association (TPBA) held its first ever Beef N' Beer Community event.  Members of the TPBA organized the event to raise funds.   Approximately 90 people came out to the Kulpsville Holiday Inn to talk about Joe, meet and greet some local veterans, enjoy raffle gifts from local businesses and watch the Eagles game.

The Holiday Inn was gracious to offer their main ballroom for the event.  Manager Eric Regits greeted guests and expressed his gratitude for local police and Bacino Family efforts.

Lansdale Sunoco, Hatfield Beverage, North Penn YMCA, Lowes of Montgomeryville, West Main Diner, ULTA Salon, Julie's Nails, Dave Schultz and the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia 76ers, Greg O'Brien of the North Penn PAL and multiple TPBA members were all generous contributors to the event raffle.

As result, the fund has grown and replaced the $1,000 paid out the past year.  Two recipients from North Penn High School received the first two checks from the fund used for college in Pennsylvania.

We look forward to seeing everybody next year for the event, date to be determined.

Donations are always accepted for the Fund. Mail to: TPBA, P.O. Box 325, Kulpsville, PA 19443.
