Culture, Music Rock International Spring Fest
The 22nd annual event, sponsored by Lansdale Public Library, took over North Penn High School Saturday with multicultural flair, exotic foods and captivating performances.
For the 22nd year, the International Spring Fest on Saturday wowed all the senses of attendees both familiar and new.
Those who came out to the North Penn High School in Towamencin for the Lansdale Public Library-sponsored multicultural extravanganza, shared in a different kind of culture shock.
They watched and listened to captivating performances, dined on exotic cuisines, played worldly musical instruments, and gained an education on the lifestyles and mores that exist outside the borders of the United States, and right in our own backyards.

The main gym was the place for the main exhibits of the numerous countries, including Korea, Afghanistan, Egypt, Canada and Fiji. Meanwhile, the room's main stage was always filled with some cultural dance, orchestra or demonstration, be it the Lee-Ming Cultural Association and its yo-yos, Ballet Folklorica de Acapulco, Bucks County Fencing Academy duels, native Philippino dances or a Voloshky Ukrainian ensemble.
This year, the audion by the entrance to the high school was the space for the end of the annual Parade of Nations. It was also the locale for Universal African Dance Ensemble, North Penn' Elite Strings, Marlyn Abramson New Dance Academy, High Tones' Beatles tunes and more.

This year's fest was highlighted by tours of the spring night sky by James Bauman in the high school planetarium, and a health and wellness family fair in the school's small gym.
The health fair offered the chance for people to get their blood glucose and cholesterol levels checked by nurses from AREUFIT Health Services. Abington Health Lansdale Hospital, Montgomery County Community College, Lansdale School of Business's massage program, and North Penn YMCA were represented at the fair, just to name a few.
