Five Things to Know Today: B-Dawk Speaks, $1,000 Giveaway and More

The North Penn High School Student Government Association holds a student talent show at 7:30 p.m., featuring 14 acts. The winner will be selected by live text message voting from members of the audience. Prizes for the top three acts. Admission is $5.

1. Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins will speak at a fundraiser at Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, tonight at 7:30. Dawkins will tell stories and hold a Q&A with the audience.

2. Beginning today at 8 a.m., Univest Corporation kicks off its first “Caring for Community Giveaway” of 2013. It is a contest that will award $1,000 to a local nonprofit arts organization, selected by the community. The public can nominate the arts group at www.facebook.com/UnivestCorporation and explain why the group should win the money. Contest ends March 25.

4. Pennfield Middle School’s “Seussical” musical continues tonight at 7:30.  Adults are $8, students are $5 and children under five are free.

5. Lansdale Library shows “Here Comes the Boom” (PG, 105 minutes) at 6 p.m. for free.
