Five Things to Know Today: Eagle Scout Project, Rock Show and More

1. Boy Scout Matt Pellegrino will be working on his Eagle Scout project today at North Wales Cemetery on Walnut Street involving the restoration of old tablets and crypts. Volunteer restoration work is provided by Charles Shaw Masonry & Construction in Towamencin.

2. It’s Amusement Park Night at First Baptist Church in Lansdale. Rick Doll from Perkasie Historical Society and Tom Rebbie of Philadelphia Toboggan Company will be on hand to talk about their nonprofit and business. There will be amusement park food and games as well. Donations accepted.

3. Six of 26 teams from North Penn School District schools will compete at the Odyssey of the Mind state competition today at Pocono Mountain East High School. Those teams are from North Wales Elementary, Nash Elementary, Montgomery Elementary, Walton Farm Elementary, Pennbrook Middle School and North Penn High School.

4. Upper Gwynedd Vol. Fire Department hosts an indoor Mommy Market today from 9 a.m. to noon. $1 donation at door. No strollers allowed. Get more information at www.ugfd.org.

There is also an indoor Mommy Market at Walton Farm Elementary School in Towamencin, starting at 9 a.m.

5. at a rock show tonight at the Lansdale VFW, 805 W. Second St. Ticket is $7 at the door.
