Five Things to Know Today: October 28

1. Cannoneers in Lansdale holds a Cheer Breakfast Fundraiser today starting at 9 a.m. at its headquarters at W. Fifth Street and Cannon Avenue. A $7 donation gets you scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, juice, tea and coffee served by cheerleaders and coaches.

2. MGM Photography holds a Halloween Charity Event today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Virago Baking Co. and Café, 322½ W. Main St., Lansdale. Come in your Halloween costume. Give a cash donation for the North Penn Boys and Girls Club and get a portrait emailed to you and a $50 gift card to MGM Photography.

3. The buffet includes made-to-order omelets and hot and cold entrees. Cost is $8 for adults and $7 for seniors. Active duty fire, police, military and children eat for free

4. A gallery show of handmade lamps and small vessels by artist Fran Leyenerger of Raku Nuvo in Yardley wraps up today at The Water Gallery in Lansdale.

5. Pearl S. Buck House holds a night of candlelit tours, ghost stories, hayrides and refreshments tonight at 4:15, 5:15 and 6:15. Attendees will experience ghost stories from the Green Hill Farm, including the tales of Devil Harry, Mrs. Loris and Magdalena. Other events include marshmallow roasting, apple cider tastings, a visit to Pearl S. Buck’s grave and a tour of the house. Tickets are $10 and free for children under five.
