The 18-lane bowling alley and family entertainment center known as King Pinz is still coming to Lansdale.

Proprietors PMC Entertainment—a BuxMont investment group—still has a signed lease for the former Clemens/SuperFresh space at Hillcrest Shopping Plaza on East Main Street.

The local investors know King Pinz Family Entertainment Center will improve that piece of Lansdale.

"The group is still pursuing the development and has been working through the structure of the business model with its supporting lenders," said PMC Entertainment in a press release. "The development site has remained unchanged. We would like to be open by the end of the year to capture the holiday business."

The investment group has completed a full engineering study, as well as the architectural and design elements of the process, according to the release.

King Pinz's preliminary features include an 18-lane contemporary bowling alley, with a 4-lane walled-off VIP room (available for parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, corporate events and the like), and 150-inch projection TVs at the end of each lane; a 3,500-square-foot arcade; a laser tag maze; and a full-service family restaurant and bar.

So, you could be able to bowl and watch the Super Bowl, or the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers or Union at the same time.

A spokesman for PMC Entertainment confirmed that no plans or paperwork have been submitted to Lansdale Borough Office of Community Development or Lansdale Borough Code Enforcement.

King Pinz announced its intent to come to Lansdale around this time last year. The PMC Entertainment spokesman said the slow progress is part of the economic times. He said the group continues to work with its lenders through the due diligence period.

According to the PMC Entertainment spokesman, landlord Tremark Management has been fantastic.

"They have worked with us in so many ways," he said. "They continue to help us through this."

He said Lansdale Borough Community Development and administration have been very flexible with PMC Entertainment, and that's a main reason for staying in Lansdale. PMC is thankful that the borough has guided them to the right people for the right information, such as utility details.

"When you take something this big and you get the administration of the town to get behind you, it's great," he said. "Lansdale has welcomed us with open arms."

He said Lansdale is "pro business."

"(Lansdale does) whatever it can to accommodate new businesses," he said. "The project will hopefully start pulling in other retail opportunities. We are not the first to go into a small town with a large investment. Molly Maguire's did it up the street. We hope we can be next, and then maybe three or four come after us."

The spokesman said the future Lansdale Collaborative Project_ would be a huge benefit for King Pinz and other retail establishments.

"With the senior center and senior housing, residents will have grandchildren coming to visit, and this is something so close that they will be able to do as a family," he said. "The place can be enjoyed no matter if you're three or 83. To have a restaurant and entertainment center so close as they are, and with limited transportation, it will be helpful for them."

King Pinz will be the ideal entertainment venue, with great revenue, in a family atmosphere.

"We are excited to bring the process to fruition and will continue to provide progress reports as the business takes shape," according to PMC Entertainment.

King Pinz is not affiliated with the King Pinz in Leesburg, Va. or Playdrome in Allentown, Pa., according to PMC Entertainment.
