Nominees Wanted for Lansdale Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lansdale Founders Day Committee established the award in 2012 to honor an individual's longtime commitment to the betterment of the borough. Nominations due June 15.

Lansdale's been through a lot of changes—and the Lansdale Founders Day Committee wants to recognize those who changed the borough for the better.
The committee, part of the nonprofit Discover Lansdale, is at present seeking nominations from the public for the Lansdale Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award looks to honor an individual for his or her longtime commitment to the betterment of Lansdale. Their commitment was done via personal interaction, education, public service or other criteria deemed significant.

The committee wants to find that someone that embodies what dedicated citizens and founding fathers accomplished in the early years of Lansdale: turn a sleepy rural village into a bustling railroad town.

"Those community leaders of the past shared a common goal: they contributed tirelessly over a long period of time to the betterment of Lansdale in a wide variety of ways," according to a press release from the committee.
Former Fairmount Fire Chief and Lansdale Fire Marshal Jay Daveler was the first recipient of the award in August 2012.
The nominating subcommittee is chaired by businessowner Margie Booz of Chantilly Floral Boutique.
Nominees must meet these criteria:
- Nominees must be living and need not be residents of Lansdale.
- Nominees will be judged based on an extensive body of work that encompasses at least 25 years of dedication to the community through service in the public or private sector that benefited the citizens of Lansdale.
- While it is not essential that nominees be residents of Lansdale, their qualifications will be judged by long-term achievements that have had a direct, positive impact on the Borough of Lansdale.
- A posthumous award for an individual who died in the year prior to Aug. 24, 2013 would be considered by the committee.
There are two ways to nominate: online and in person.

Drop off nominations in person to Chantilly Floral Boutique at 29 W. Main St., Lansdale.
Nominations must include a detailed description of the nominees' qualifications, as well as the name, address and phone number of the person making the nomination.
All nominations are due June 15. The 2013 recipient will be announced by Aug. 1.
