Old North Penn: West Point Park
The family-favorite park in West Point, Upper Gwynedd spanned a stretch of Garfield and Park avenues. It featured rides like The Jumper, Wild Mouse and more.

This week's "Old North Penn" photo feature looks at a West Point, Upper Gwynedd relic that existed between Garfield Avenue and Park Avenue: West Point Park.
The Jumper, Wild Mouse, and Kiddie Land were the main features at the park.

William D. Evans and Howard Booz took over ownership of the land that would become the park in 1954, according to Rollercoaster Database. The Jumper, a wooden coaster, opened in 1965 and Wild Mouse, a steel coaster, in 1958. Wild Mouse closed down in 1976 and The Jumper would follow in 1987.
The park sold in 1987. The visible remnants of the West Point Park are the boat pond and island.

According to rcdb.com, prior to the park, the property was first developed by Hezekiah Zeiber upon his return from the Civil War in 1868. The family kept it until the 1940s, and reportedly sold it to the Octomanto family, who kept it until 1954, according to the site.
