North Penn School District Not Target Of Threatening Social Media Post
A social media post making its way around Snapchat did not target North Penn School District or others nearby, easing local concern.

LANSDALE, PA — A threatening post on the social media app Snapchat was not in any way connected to the North Penn School District or other area schools, Patch has learned.
Students and parents recently approached school officials in some districts across Montgomery County, including North Penn, raising concern about a social media post that reportedly threatened a school shooting.
But local law enforcement has determined that the post had come from somewhere in the southern United States, and had no connection to Pennsylvania.

And North Penn School District officials also addressed the issue, assuring parents that there was nothing to worry about.

"We want to assure families, staff and students that we take any threat seriously and have involved the local police departments and we have found no connection to any North Penn School District school," the school said in a email to parents, as reported on North Penn Now.
The North Penn Now report said that police in Towamencin Township quickly determined that the threatening post originated somewhere in Georgia.
Reports about the issue also surfaced on media from other parts of the country.
