Where to Give Locally for Hurricane Sandy Cleanup

This is an ongoing and updated list of local Hurricane Sandy cleanup efforts in the North Penn, Indian Valley and beyond.

The Towamencin Soccer Club U9F Tornadoes and U12F Tigers are coordinating a collecting effort on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Grist Mill Park fields from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park and fields are at the corner of Forty Foot Road and Allentown Road.

Collection will be delivered to Fairview Village Church in Eagleville, who will then deliver to New York and New Jersey.

- Non-perishable food
- Bottled water
- Baby formula
- Flashlight battery packs (flashlight and batteries together)
- Blankets
- Generators
The Gutter Guys at Route 309 and Trewigtown Road in Colmar are collecting clothes, blankets, pots, pans, silverware, dog food and more for hurricane victims.
Donations can be made between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. today.
Bux-Mont Hurricane Sandy Cleanup Team is a local group coordinating volunteer efforts online on Facebook.
Teams will be transporting donations and participating in cleanup work all-day Saturday and Sunday at the Jersey Shore. Meetup time and location will be posted Wednesday night.
Teams will also gather in Central Bucks on Saturday and Sunday to cleanup and lead donation efforts. Meetup times and location will be posted Thursday.
According to a recent post, the group is working with a colleague to organize a team of students from Delaware Valley College to join the effort at the shore.
Neil Diamond tribute band Real Diamond is holding a Hurricane Sandy Benefit on Nov. 16 at 8:30 p.m. at Franky & Johnny's, 1111 Easton Road, Warrington. Tickets are $15. Proceeds go to aid victims in Long Beach Island, NJ and surrounding communities. Get tickets at the Real Diamond website.
Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue, is collecting donations on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the front of its sanctuary between 9 a.m. and noon. Contact the church at (215)-969-1520.
The following items are needed for the Calvary Chapel effort:

- Five-gallon gas containers
- Sleeping bags
- Air mattresses or world beds
- Non-perishable food
- Chainsaws
- Power tools
- Cleaning supplies specifically made for clean up after floods.
- Barrel fans or air movers
- Heavy-duty garbage bags
- Work gloves
- Masks
- Waders
- Shop vacuums
- Extension cords
- Contractor brooms
- Shovels
- Heavy-duty dustpans
- Rakes
