EMS Week is a Time to Appreciate

Macungie Ambulance Corps is always ready to help, but its community commitment runs even deeper.

As EMS Week draws to a close, there still is a chance to learn why one facet of our community's team of first responders, the Macungie Ambulance Corps, is such a valuable resource to the people who live and work in Macungie, Alburtis and Lower Macungie. 

On function of what does is community education, says Operations Manager Chris Greb.

And in the spirit of EMS Week, several CPR classes have been offered.

The will host the week's final one at 6 p.m. May 20 when the community can also see a presentation, "EMS in Your Community," which includes activities for the whole family. 

Macungie Ambulance responded to 2,913 calls for assistance in 2010, up from 2,504 in 2008. It serves all of Macungie and Alburtis boroughs, all of Lower Macungie Township and the western half of Upper Milford Township. It provides CPR classes throughout the year.
