1. Emmaus Library Gala Fundraiser
Where/When: 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Brookside Country Club.

Why Go: Hors d’oevres, complimentary wine (and a cash bar) with David Roper on piano and silent auction. But most importantly, it contributes to the building of a new children's wing for the library.

When/Where: 6 p.m. to midnight Feb. 12 at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Fogelsville.
Why go: Because every once in a while you have to get all dressed up and go somewhere nobody is bringing their kids and you can have adult conversations.

3. Chocolate & Wine Weekend on the Berks County Wine Trail
When/Where: noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 12 and 13 at the wineries along the Berks County Wine Trail.
Why go: Because its WINE! And it's CHOCOLATE!
4. Wine and Beer Making Seminar
When/Where: 2 p.m. Feb. 13 at Wine and Beer Makers Outlet, 202 S. 3rd St. (Route 309), Coopersburg.
Why go: Because it's free and it's a neat thing to do with your Valentine.
When/Where: 8 p.m. Feb. 12 and 3 p.m. Feb. 13 at Allentown Symphony Hall, 23 N. 6th St.
Why go: Because watching somebody run around stage with a rose in her teeth is romantic.
