Fourth-Graders Knit for a Cause
Alburtis Elementary students gave up recess and signed contracts agreeing to donate them.

Alburtis Elementary School students, teachers and parents will delight this afternoon in the creations of a group of fourth-graders who gave up their inside recess time to learn how to weave scarves.
In addition to learning a new skill, the students agreed to donate the warm garments to Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, a safe place where victims of abuse and their children find refuge.
The scarves will be on display at the Alburtis Eagle Assembly at 2:30 p.m. today when the kids will be wearing their scarves to show the other grades what they accomplished by hard work and dedication. They will also be awarded certificates.Â
