Get Out: Five Things to Do This Weekend

Should be a good weekend coming up! We have more kinds of music than you can shake a stick at, tapas, barbeque, an open mic and good advice for making a happy home.

1. Blues, Brews and BBQs

When/Where: Noon to 10 p.m. June 9 at 8th and Hamilton streets, Allentown

Why Go: Sarah Ayers Band, James Supra Band and Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band are only a few of the entertainers scheduled.

Pricing: Depends on what and how much you eat and drink.

When/Where: 7 p.m. June 9 at the .

Why Go: Open mic will be a standard, 3 song or 15 minute (whichever comes first) set -- less or more depending on turnout. Beverages and food/snacks will be available. We'll also have t-shirts and some other goodies for sale.

Pricing: Suggested door donation of $3 to help cover expenses.

3. Artifest 2012

When/Where: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 9-10 at the Museum of Indian Culture in Salisbury Township.

Why Go: Because cultural heritage -- all cultures -- matter. There will be several cultural artisans including April Milinchik’s Ukranian beadwork, Bonnie Eastwood’s fine crafted gourds, and Eli Thomas’s American Indian artwork. Stitchers of Faith will display their Underground Railroad quilt and sell crafts as a fundraiser to make more quilts for the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Watch a mural being painted by artist Holly Fields-Scott depicting the cultural impact on the history of the Lehigh County.

Pricing: Admission is $5, adults; $4 seniors and children 4-17

Why Go: This interactive workshop teaches people how to take advantage of the Law of Attraction in their relationships. By falling deeper in love with themselves, they can magnetize others and create ideal loving relationships

Pricing: $25

When/Where: 1 p.m. June 10 at in Breinigsville

Why Go: Chef Nathan Grube and musician Craig Thatcher will be returning to Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery.  Enjoy the music and beautiful view of the vineyard.

Pricing: Tapas is $6 per plate. Reservations are recommended.
