Arctic Loons Rescued in Lower Macungie

Two Arctic Loons were rescued in Lower Mac this week after they mistook wet asphalt for water on which they could rest and feed as they migrated from the Arctic Circle to the beaches of Virginia and Maryland.

A leg cramp while she was driving caused Donna M. Kachurick of Macungie to accelerate into a utility pole at Willow and Mulberry lanes in Lower Mac.

Lower Macungie Commissioners agreed that the commercially-zoned farmland next to Allen Organ could be used for apartment buildings if and when a plan is presented to and approved via the usual development channels.

Lower Mac Man Accused of Fondling 15-Year-Old

Christopher M. Laevey was accused of fondling the breasts of a 15-year-old babysitter. He was arraigned before Magesterial District Justice Michael J. Faulkner and is free on bail.

Macungie Councilman's Residency Challenged

Joseph Sikorski was challenged by fellow council member Jean Nagle at the Feb. 4 Macungie Council meeting as to whether he still lives in the borough of Macungie.
