Grant Kotz of Alburtis Honored by Boy Scouts

Boy Scout volunteer Grant Kotz of Alburtis has been honored with the Silver Beaver Award from the Minsi Trails Council

Grant Kotz was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America, Minsi Trails at its recent dinner and annual meeting for outstanding and distinguished service to community youth. For that, Kotz received the Silver Beaver Award.

Kotz started his scouting career 14 years ago.  Kotz has held leadership positions as committee member, committee chair, Scoutmaster, Chartered Organization Representative and Assistant Scoutmaster. Kotz currently serves as Associate Crew Advisor for Crew 120.

Kotz has also been active as a member-at-large for the Trexler District. For more than 10 years, he has assisted the District in approving Eagle Scout projects. Kotz is the cook for many events including the Annual Awards Brunch and Klondike Derby.

He has been recognized with the District Award of Merit.

Kotz's other community volunteer involvement includes assisting with the Girl Scouts at Concordia Lutheran Church in Lower Mac and serving as the Girl Scouts Camp Cook in 2012.

He and his wife Anne live in Alburtis and are members of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.
