'Guys and Dolls' is a Hit!

It was one big hug around the neck.

The splendor of Broadway hit the Emmaus High School stage last night with the opening of "Guys and Dolls."

And the production was fabulous.

Set in 1950 -- the year it premiered on Broadway -- the upbeat music and dancing was just a pleasure to watch.

And the kids had a ball. Any audience can feel tension if there's any on stage, but this show was just fun all around.

And the music: Wow! It just doesn't get any more cheery and vivacious than "I Love You A Bushel and a Peck" and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat."

Both numbers were well danced, too.

The jewel of the show, however, had to be "Luck Be a Lady," with 23 gamblin' dancers perfectly choreographed around Wesly Clerge who played Sky Masterson.

Is it possible for one show to have two male and two female leads? With Katy Domyan as Sarah Brown and Mattea Pechter as Miss Adelaide, neither took one bit of a back seat to the other.

Additionally, Zach Petrovich as Nathan Detroit was a winner, especially in his rendition of "Sue Me."

If you don't have tickets, try to get some. We hear they're scarce these days.

And enjoy the show!
