Update: Lower Macungie Patch Voters Head to the Polls Today
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
It’s Tuesday, Nov. 8, and it’s Election Day.
Voters in Lower Macungie Patch will make a variety of decisions. They also will choose a Lehigh County judge and representation in countywide positions, including four Lehigh County commissioners.
Poll workers in Macungie and throughout Lower Macungie Township said voting was heavier in late morning before it thinned in the afternoon. All expected a surge of after-work voters.

In the Borough of Macungie, there are four borough council seats on the line -- three four year and one two-year -- and five East Penn School Board seats to fill. Lower Macungie Township voters will also help to choose those school board members and will vote for two Lower Macungie Township Commissioners.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Â

In the , six candidates, including a recently appointed incumbent, are seeking three seats. Two candidates who joined the race since the primary are seeking a two-year seat. The candidates are:
- Christopher Becker, Republican, Incumbent
- Debra Cope, Republican/Democrat
- Gregory Hutchison, Republican
- Guy Ramsey, Democrat
- Linn Walker, Republican
- Kim Sherr, Republican, write-in
The includes Republicans Douglas Brown, the incumbent, Republican James Lancsek and Democrat Robert Sharpe.
There are seven candidates vying for five open seats on the . They are:
- Current school member
- Current school board member
All East Penn School Board candidates are seeking four-year terms.
In the race for local Magistrate, which covers Emmaus, Macungie and Upper Milford, the current Magistrate, Donna R. Butler, is running uncontested.
In the Lehigh County Commissioner race, four Republicans and four Democrats are vying for four seats.
The Republican candidates are , ,  and .
The four Democrats are Geoffrey S. Brace, Dennis L. Pearson, Gloria Hamm, and Timothy S. Waitkus.Â
Competing for are Democrat Dan McCarthy, a Lehigh County commissioner; and Republican Doug Reichley, a state representative.
