Macungie Council Will Address Manager Issue Tonight

What they will say, however, is unknown.

Discussions at the past several Macungie Council meetings have come closer and closer to addressing the issue of whether Manager Chris Boehm will stay in her position.

Many citizens have addressed Council -- almost always in support of Boehm -- others have delivered flyers of support door-to-door, and there was also a newspaper ad saying she is good for the borough.

Tonight, however, is the first meeting since Council has actually completed Boehm's annual evaluation, and the group will have a statement, Boehm says.

She has not seen the evaluation yet, she says, and has no idea which way Council is leaning.

At the Feb. 7 meeting, Council member Jean Nagle made a motion to keep Boehm in her job at least for the remainder of the calendar year if for no other reason than the stability of the borough. Council voted 4-3 not to adopt the motion.

Tonight's meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Macungie Institute.
