PennDOT Warns Christmas Weekend Travelers
Chance of a major winter storm looms Sunday into Monday.

Pennsylvania's transportation officials are urging holiday travelers to keep a close watch on the weather forecast going into Christmas weekend.
Some forecasts indicate the Lehigh Valley won't have a white Christmas, but snow could come soon after – possibly Sunday into Monday.
"Anyone with travel plans should be aware that there is the potential for a major winter storm that could have a significant impact on all or parts of Pennsylvania this weekend," said PennDOT Secretary Allen D. Biehler in a press release issued Wednesday afternoon.

The press release further quoted Biehler as saying, "It's essential for motorists to carefully monitor weather forecasts and check conditions along their entire route before traveling this weekend."
The National Weather Service website's seven-day forecast lists a "chance of snow" and cold temperatures (highs well below freezing) this weekend.
